AFRICAN WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP II Sat 12th & Sun 13th May 2012
The African Watercolour Workshop of last year lent itself to a sequel, so Hazel is offering another in May 2012.
The subject matter will be African wildlife and African people, with an emphasis on mastering wet-in-wet techniques, attention to tone, colour combinations and brushwork. The colours of Africa also present the perfect opportunity to use the differing properties of transparent and opaque watercolour pigments.
Date: Sat 12th & Sun 13th May 2012
Time: 9.30am-5.30pm each day with lunch break from 1-2.15pm

Metered street parking on Saturday from 9am-5pm (£2.20 per hour).
Price £250 + VAT = £300 per person.
Participants must bring their own art materials - watercolour paints (especially tubes), palettes, paper and brushes and 3 small transparent waterpots. A materials list will be sent to those on the course
To be able to create the same effects that Hazel achieves requires similar papers, Saunders Waterford, Arches & Khadi.. Hazel Soan’s Saunders Waterford sketchblocks in ½ imperial, ¼ imperial and 1/8th imperial sizes will be available for purchase, along with her sable brush sets, but please let us know in advance so we can assure supplies.
This workshop is being held at Hazel’s studio gallery in Fulham, just off the Fulham Road in the Parsons Green area. Soft drinks will be available throughout the day but food and hot drinks are not included. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants close by along the Fulham Road, and you are welcome to go out and get a coffee or tea at any time. There will be an hour and a quarter lunch break. You are also welcome to bring a thermos and packed lunch.
